Seriously? Only focusing on the sick or needy would be like Christ ignoring the tax collectors and sinners he sat and ate with. He didn't just heal the blind, the possessed, or the needy. He spent time with the leaders of the communities and those who appeared to have it together, just like He spent time healing those that physically needed it. The majority of his time was spent with ordinary people loving in an extraordinary way that was against the times.

Before spending time criticizing people for spending time ministering to those trying to escape from life, know the person who changed the world by loving people who appeared to have it together, as much as he loved those who were physically broken.

Seriously? All statistics show the skills of a college graduate (even a second or third rate one) are valued by employers and enable the person to earn far more than those with just a high school education. Now if you don't remember anything you "learned" in any of your classes maybe it is your or your school’s problem. Some people enjoy teaching and do it for that reason not because they failed to come up with a better idea. And the irony of quoting a movie about the founder of facebook as your supporting "evidence" for not needing a college education is just delicious. This organization is your "better idea" I guess.

You're "preaching" to others without particular intellect, training, or life experience and doing exactly what to justify the air you breathe? That sounds a little judgmental to me (of college) especially from someone who apparently raises money from begging, golf fundraisers, and the cult of personality.

Of course if everyone DID drop out we'd lose the necessity of an organization devoted to "Truth in College Culture." Pile of manure....meet crock of shit.

Of course you won't publish this....not because it doesn't have valid points or because it is offensive to people in general. You won't post it because it challenges the core concepts of this "All about ME" website. You haven't removed the "ME" you've just stepped totally into the spotlight of being the "ME."

I saw someone on this site state they felt like they were doing Jesus' work because their feet were dirty in the warm Florida air wearing flip flops in a parking lot. Go feed some homeless people (buy them a Kashi bar), shelter someone who reeks to high heaven, or exposure yourself to someone with a contagious illness. Anything short of that and you're not even close (as an organization) to doing work similar to Christ's. Hanging out with young healthy college students who can afford, and are on, vacation is hardly tough work or worthy of any attention (much less financial support). You're a cruise director for "Christ". Communion on the Lido deck....

May God teach you gently....or not...I doubt it will take with the gentle approach.

Hi Russ and Brenda,
I'm not a college student, and I'm not even sure I filled in the boxes above correctly, but just had to comment that this article was right on. And, what wise young people you are to discover this on the early side of life. I have to say my favorite line, among many, was grating the mold off the outer edges of life's cheese to get down to the good stuff-what really matters. And trust me on this Kiera is near the top of the list. I will look forward to reading part II. Becky

Love is revolutionary...it changes everything & even when a life is bathed in love, there is affect when you feel it in a new way. Our capacity to love is our surest reflection of God's image in us.

Exactly...
