National:
Spring Break 20Ten – East and West Coast Teams representing We Minus Me join forces in Panama City Beach, FL for the biggest Spring Break Party in the whole nation. 500,000 to a Million students, along with major brands from MTV to ARMY, come from all over the country to be a part of this craziness. During this week our teams hit the beaches, clubs, parking lots, hot tubs, and anywhere else students hang out in order to meet them right on their turf, in the very culture that they live, and show them love…ultimately the love of Christ. There are many different ways in which we interact and reach out to students. We hang out with them on the beach, play sports, give out free food/drinks, give out promo, have BBQ’s at our beach house, interview students on camera, talk and pray with them, and the list goes on. We also get their contact info in order to follow up with them after Spring Break and get them plugged into other opportunities that We Minus Me and other organizations offer throughout the year. The other side of this Spring Break Trip is the Spiritual Formation and Community/Team Building side of things where we really invest in our own teams through activities designed to grow and strengthen their faith and relationships.

Care Package Drop – We want to show College Students some love by sending them a Care Package. That’s it. It’s that simple. No Strings Attached. Just send us your Name and Address and we’ll send you a package filled with some We Minus Me gear and some other stuff. Email your full info to wrj3@mac.com and we’ll ship it right out to you.
Fresh Frosh Trip – A Team of recently graduated High School Seniors are coming out to SoCal to experience a different kind of Senior Trip. The trip is designed to be an alternative to the drunken debauchery-fest that normally occurs after graduation. It’s also designed to provide a crash course in College Life 101, helping to prepare the students for what they are going to face once they head off to College. It will help them handle their new found freedom, to make better choices, and also provide valuable information on what having faith in College might look like and how to maintain that in the culture in which we live. (Dates for 2011 TBA)
Switchfoot Bro-Am – We Minus Me will be one of the featured Vendors at the 2010 Switchfoot Bro-Am. We will have a tent where a team of College Students will be letting people know what we are all about and selling merchandise to help us keep doing what we do. If you are in the area, come out and hang with us in our tent!
Local:
Snowboard Roadie – We are taking a group of local College Students on a road trip up to Mammoth to Snowboard/Ski. The purpose is just to live life together, meeting students right where they are in life and showing some love. We aim to have many meaningful conversations about life, what it means, and our purpose in it and make some Rad memories while we’re at it. (Jan 11-13)
Campus Giveaways – These are smaller, more spontaneous and grassroots events where we just show up on a local campus, give out free water/food and promo product just to show some love to students and get the word out about We Minus Me and partnering companies. We continue to take advantage of the opportunities that present themselves to share our message with students as they ask, “Why are you guys doing this?” (Throughout the school year)
Humanitarian Work – One thing that is part of our DNA is that we want to partner with other organizations and rally/assemble teams of College Students to help with humanitarian work in our local communities. As we continue to grow and develop partnerships, we want to bring aid to as many people and benefit as many different causes as we can. (Throughout the school year)
Cupid’s Rose Parade – We have been cultivating relationships with a local Fraternity and Sorority on SDSU’s campus. This Valentine’s Day we are partnering with them to hand out roses and VDay cards on campus letting College Women know that they are truly beautiful just the way God made them and that they are genuinely loved by Him and all of us.
Football Tailgate – Talking about showing up on the turf of College Students. We plan on taking teams of College Students, just like we do to Spring Break, and hitting up the parking lots of major football games. We’ll bring it all with us, a grill, burgers, dogs, “corn-hole”, some cameras and plenty of We Minus Me promo to give out to students. We will show them love right on their turf, right in the midst of their culture, and have tons of meaningful conversations. We’ll let them know about We Minus Me and the Love of Christ.
Fundraising Opportunities:
Golf Tournament – This is one of our major fundraisers for the year. This year we hosted our 2nd annual golf tournament having 8 golfers compete, raising around $9,000 for We Minus Me. We felt like it was an improvement from our first year and we have a goal for our 3rd of having 12 golfers compete and raising $24,000. We also hope to have a golf tournament on the West Coast as well (the format has yet to be determined).
Benefit Dinner – This year’s dinner will be held on December 11th in San Diego, CA. We will be raising awareness about the need that exists, who we are, what we do, and generating future support for We Minus Me.
